We are thrilled to share the success of COP in My City Nepal 2024, held from October 4-6 at the National Maize Research Centre, Chitwan. This impactful event, organized in collaboration with CliMates Nepal and Open Dialogues on Climate Change, brought together youth from all seven provinces of Nepal for climate negotiations, policy simulations, and meaningful discussions about a sustainable future.

Key highlights of the event included:
Opening ceremony chaired by Ms. Pooja Pokharel, President of CliMates Nepal, and graced by Chief Guest Mr. Chitra Sen Adhikari, Deputy Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, and Special Guest Mr. Madhusudan Gautam, climate change expert. An En-ROADS climate simulation session led by Mr. Sunil Sapkota, where participants negotiated pathways to limit global temperature rise to 1.9ยฐC. Engaging presentations on Nepal’s COP29 priorities, youth roles in local climate action, and UNFCCC negotiations, delivered by leading experts. Collaborative policy consultations from province-wise groups, addressing gaps and proposing innovative solutions, discussing NDC 3.0.ย
