Gender Dimensions of Climate Change: Research Report

Read/Download Document

This research report presents an in-depth analysis of how climate change impacts women and marginalized groups differently in Nepal. Based on primary data from 250 households, five focus group discussions in each municipality, together with three key informant interviews in each municipality, across five climate-vulnerable communities covering five municipalities and two districts in central Nepal. The study translates lived experiences into evidence across 20 thematic areas, including workload, resource access, decision-making, migration, and social norms. The report offers concrete, evidence-based recommendations to support gender-responsive climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction policies, programs, and investments.
