As part of our ongoing efforts to amplify community voices in climate and disaster resilience, our project team alongside Ms. Mehtap Tatar (she/her) , Deputy Country Representative of UN Women Nepal, and women’s group representatives from other project areas visited the women’s group in Ward 4, Methinkot, Namobuddha Municipality.
This group, formed under the project “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯’𝘴 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘚𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘝𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳-𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘙𝘙 𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴,” led a transformative 16-week REFLECT session. The sessions created a space for participatory dialogue on climate change, environmental challenges, disaster preparedness, and women’s rights.
During our visit, the women shared their reflections, stories, and learnings. not just through words, but also through art, songs, and poetry. These creative expressions powerfully captured the group’s journey of leadership, awareness, and collective action.
Their voices affirmed that resilience is not only about infrastructure or policy, but also about community consciousness, solidarity, and storytelling.
