The project focuses on addressing the compounded challenges of climate change, disaster risk reduction (DRR), and social inequality in Nepal. It aims to enhance the resilience of marginalized communities, particularly women, who are disproportionately affected by climate change. By leveraging the expertise of a consortium led by HIMAWANTI Nepal, the project intends to strengthen gender-responsive climate initiatives in targeted districts through inclusive, evidence-based approaches.

  • Strengthen women’s group’s voice and agency and leadership role in the project location.
Scope of Work

The project will be implemented in Marin and Hariharpurgadhi Municipalities of Sindhuli district and Bethanchowk, Dhulikhel and Namobuddha Municipalites in Kavrepalanchowk district, focusing on creating climate-smart villages. Activities include conducting workshops to develop GEDSI action plans, facilitating round-table discussions, collecting and analyzing gender data, and documenting indigenous knowledge.
